Well I'm happy to say that our cat boarding room has been a big hit. Our one year anniversary was in September! I have found that most of the cats who have been staying with me started out being ones that already had their dogs who board here. This makes it very easy for the owners to have all pets in one place. But lately I've been having new cats show up who do not live with dogs. This has been fun and the cats adapt very fast to hearing the dogs playing and seeing them through the window in the door. I have also noticed that each and every cat loves having all the space in the room to roam around...with the window seat being the most popular spot for bird and squirrel watching. Plus the amount of kitty toys that I need to pick up each night and put away must be an indication of how much fun they are having with them. Owners have told me that when they take their cats home, they are not stressed out and they can tell they were well taken care of.
So if you are interested, just like the dogs that stay here, the cats will need to have the following:
Definitely required current FVRCP, Rabies, and FELV vaccinations plus a monthly flea preventative/dewormer (Revolution is my recommendation) so as to limit each cat’s liability with exposure to viruses and parasites. Unless cats belong to the same family, they will not have contact with one another at playtime unless you give permission
to do so and I see no signs of agression. We don’t want any bite wounds or scratches to happen.
Cost to board a cat is $15.00 per day, or $18.00 if I need to administer meds.
All felines must be brought to my home in a cat carrier of some sort, and the carrier may be left here until your return. I do have forms that must be filled out before your cat may stay here. I can email them to you for you to print out and bring with you, or you may fill them out once you are here.
